Rules to Change Singular Words to Plural Words

There are many rules for changing singular words to plural. These are:

Rule 1: We can make a singular word plural by adding ‘-s’ to the end. For example, car-cars, pencil-pencils, toy-toys, etc.
Rule 2: When a singular word ends with -ch, -sh, -s, -ss, -o and -x, we add ‘-es’ to the end to make it a plural word. For example, box-boxes, glass-glasses, hero-heroes, etc.
Rule 3: We can make a singular word plural by changing -y into -ies if a singular word ends in a consonant before -y. For example, baby-babies, cherry-cherries, fairy-fairies, etc.
Rule 4: If a singular word has a vowel before -y, we add '-s' to make it plural. For example, key-keys, monkey-monkeys, donkey-donkeys, etc.
Rule 5: We can make a singular word plural by changing -f or -fe into '-ves'. For example, leaf-leaves, half-halves, wolf-wolves, etc.
