d. For Class 9 the International Drawing Olympiad is single-round. CREST Olympiads date from 2019 and have drawn entries from 6000+ schools.

SDG 12 is new in Class 9. The list has six posters, twice the three of Class 8, and the other two topics are Water Conservation and The Upcycle Crew.

The Upcycle Crew is a team, which suggests several people at work together. Poster- Eco-Friendly Environment and the SDG 12 poster are broad, so a sharp, original idea will stand out. Poster- Consumer Awareness campaign is, as its title says, a campaign: think about how a real campaign poster speaks directly to the person reading it, with a short line and one clear image.

Everything in the Drawing Olympiad syllabus for Class 9 leads to one drawing, completed in 60 minutes for 100 marks, with just one level in the exam.

Title/Caption counts for 10 marks, Message Conveyed for 10, Theme Adherence for 15, Quality of Scan for 15, Originality/Creativity for 20 and Neatness and Composition for 30. That last category judges layout, balance, overall impact, line quality, colouring and shading, detailing and craftsmanship.

What do you draw on? A white A4 drawing sheet, 210 mm by 297 mm, with a 1 cm border; the drawing stays inside, and your name, CREST ID and class go outside the border at the bottom left corner.

What do you draw with? An HB pencil, sharpener, eraser and drawing board, and colours of your choice: pastel colours with a painting brush, crayons, oil pastels or pencil colours.

What do you do during the exam? Draw on a clean, flat surface, with sharp pencil lines and no broken lines. Every 7-10 minutes, show the drawing to the camera so the committee can track it; failure to do so may lead to disqualification.

How do you upload? Take a high-resolution photo of only the drawing on a plain background, or scan it so it has no grey shades or scanner marks. Adobe Scan, Microsoft Office Scan or a similar scanner is recommended. Upload .jpg, .jpeg or .png, up to 10 MB, inside the 5 minutes allowed after you submit the exam; missing that window may lead to disqualification.

7. A Merit Certificate is given to the top 25% of students.
8. A digital certificate with the words "Honourable Mention" is given to the top 25% to 50% of students.
