e. The cut-off for Level 2 is the top 66.67% of Class 7 candidates. There is a second route too: the top three from any school that enters more than 25 Class 7 students, provided they registered through that school.

1. Science Olympiad Individual registrations by students are accepted.

2. Students who have not done registration through school will have to take exams from home. The individual participating should have a webcam and a good internet facility. Use a laptop, desktop or tablet with a screen larger than 11.5 inches: a Windows computer or tablet running Windows 8 or above, a Mac, or an iPad. Phones cannot be used. Use the latest version of Google Chrome (Edge or Firefox also work); the exam cannot be taken on the Safari browser. The exam is monitored through a webcam.

The Class 7 list is longer than the Class 6 one. Fibre to Fabric continues, and Light stays, now as a single heading. Motion and Time follows Motion and Measurement of Distances, Electric Current and its Effects follows Electricity and Circuits, and Physical and Chemical Changes takes over from Changes Around Us. Heat; Winds, Storms and Cyclones; Acids, Bases and Salts; weather and climate; and the life-process topics are new. Fun with Magnets, Sorting and Separation of Materials, Living Organisms and Their Surroundings, Food and its Components, and Our Environment are no longer listed.

The Science Olympiad syllabus for Class 7 lists these topics:

Both levels give you 50 questions and 60 minutes, for 60 marks, and nothing is deducted for a wrong answer. The Class 7 Science Olympiad marking scheme shows the split: 40 one-mark questions and 10 two-mark Achievers questions.

The exam fee is INR 275 for students studying and enrolling from India. For students studying and residing outside of India, the fee is USD 15.

You have a lot of topics this year, so start ten weeks out if you can and aim for two topics a week.

Pair topics that belong together. Heat goes with Winds, Storms and Cyclones. Acids, Bases and Salts goes with Physical and Chemical Changes. Take Nutrition in Plants and Animals, Respiration in Organisms and Transportation in Plants and Animals as one biology block, with Reproduction in Plants after it. Motion and Time and Electric Current and its Effects need numerical practice: speed, distance and time sums, and circuit diagrams.

Before the sample papers, draw diagrams by hand. Labelling the parts of a flower or the human respiratory system once is worth more than reading about it twice. The same goes for Winds, Storms and Cyclones: sketch how a cyclone forms and you will remember it far better than a paragraph.

With the diagrams done, move to the class 7 Science Olympiad sample papers. At 72 seconds per question, a full paper is a real workout, so do at least two under timed conditions, plus the free trial.

Keep one sheet of formulas and definitions for the numerical topics and the life processes, and read it on the morning of the class 7 Science Olympiad instead of opening a new chapter.

Science Olympiad cutoff for class 7 will be released through online mode. The class 7 Science Olympiad cut-off & rankings can be viewed by any participants on the official website. This cut-off is the minimum marks that students should attain in the CREST Science Olympiad to pass the examinations.

Some exceptional platforms like CREST Olympiads release the Science Olympiad class 7 answer Key after the examination is held, on the answer key dates shown on the exam schedule. The answer key will contain answers to questions asked in the Olympiad of Science. Students will be able to calculate their probable scores with the answer keys. Answer keys can be easily seen by participants on the dashboard. 

For Class 7, Level 1 results follow within 10 days of the last Level 1 answer key date, and Level 2 results arrive within a month of its final answer key. Your registered login opens both on the dashboard.

One Class 7 review wished results came in two days. Before results, CREST releases the answer key, gives a window to challenge it, and normalises ranks across the different exam sessions.

Level 2 needs a place in the top 66.67% of Class 7, or a top 3 spot among your school's registered students, if more than 25 from Class 7 took part. Once the Level 2 results are out, medals go to the top 15% of Class 7 students, Merit Certificates to the top 25% and Honourable Mention certificates to the top 60%.
