CREST Mental Maths Olympiad (CMMO) is an international exam open for students in grade 12. Students from more than 60 + countries and 6000+ schools participate in this Mental Maths competition to evaluate their aptitude, logical reasoning, and enhance their ability to perform Mathematical operations quickly without the use of a calculator.

Exam Highlights for Class 12 CREST Mental Maths Olympiad (CMMO)

a. Of all the classes in the CREST Mental Maths Olympiad, which starts at Senior KG, Class 12 is the highest. Students of any board and country are welcome in the Mental Maths Olympiad for class 12.

b. Your school may register you; otherwise registration is open to you directly on the CREST website. Schools can write to info@crestolympiads.com to take part.

c. The paper is solo, with the webcam on from the first minute to the last, and it runs on a desktop, a laptop or a tablet larger than 11.5 inches rather than on a phone.

d. Check your setup a few days before: a stable internet connection, the latest Google Chrome (Edge or Firefox also work; Safari is not supported) and Windows 8 or above on a Windows device (a Mac or an iPad is fine too). The CREST FAQs also explain how to check your browser's zoom settings.

e. Of the two levels, Level 2 is for the top 66.67% of Class 12 candidates in Level 1 and also for the three top school-registered scorers of any school that enters over 25 students in Class 12.

2. Rank holders in Class 12. Second place in the world for Class 12 Mental Maths in 2023-24 is recorded on a Hall of Fame profile. Another profile covers three years in a row, 2023-24 to 2025-26: third in Class 10, then first in both Class 11 and Class 12.

3. Calculation without a calculator. CREST built this exam to test logical skills, aptitude and the ability to do mathematical operations quickly without a calculator.

For the last class in the series, the Mental Maths Olympiad syllabus for class 12 has exactly the seven topics below:

Classes 9, 10 and 11 have these same seven topics and the Class 12 prep guide matches the Class 10 and 11 guides, so Class 12 is a year of revision rather than new material. In the guide, Data Handling means statistics, probability and data interpretation, and Geometry means lines and angles.

The paper runs for 60 minutes and has 100 questions carrying 120 marks, split into 80 Basique (1 mark) and 20 Avance (2 marks). Level 2 is identical in build and mistakes are never penalised.

The class 12 Mental Maths sample papers set a good benchmark: ten men who finish a job in 12 days and how many are needed for 20 days, which of four numbers is divisible by 19, and a lift going down 7 m a minute from 5 m above ground to 205 m below. Aim for 36 seconds each.

On the official website, students can view the answer key dates for the CREST Mental Maths Olympiad (CMMO). Answer key is made available on the answer key dates shown on the exam schedule. Answer key can only be checked by the students who participated in the exam

Sign in with your registered credentials to see the Class 12 Mental Maths Olympiad results: Level 1 results are normally published within 10 days of the last Level 1 answer key date, and Level 2 results within a month of the last Level 2 answer key date.

Because each session has its own question paper, CREST normalises the ranks of every paper. Medals and trophies then travel by post to whatever address was entered at registration.
