a. Class 7 students of any board can enter from anywhere in the world, either through their school or on their own; CREST accepts individual registrations so that every student can compete with peers in India and abroad.

b. Sit the exam by yourself in a quiet room. Someone else using the test, or the use of a calculator, phone or other gadget, can end in disqualification.

You need a webcam, which monitors the exam, and a laptop, desktop or tablet with a screen over 11.5 inches: a Windows 8 or later machine, a Mac or an iPad. A phone will not do.

d. There is one level only. Your rank and any medal in the Cyber Olympiad for class 7 come from this paper.

How to Prepare for Class 7 Cyber Olympiad Exams?

Class 7 covers ten units, many of them software you can practise on. Plan eight weeks and keep a laptop open while you study.

Write a small web page by hand: start with <!DOCTYPE html>, add <h1>, <p>, <img> and <a>, then style it with CSS colours, fonts and borders. In Word, run a mail merge for three letters and record a macro; in Excel, use IF, AND, VLOOKUP, IFERROR and SUMIFS on a small table. If you have Photoshop, practise layers and the Marquee, Lasso and Magic Wand tools; if not, learn what each tool does from the list.

Draw the path of a web request through DNS, and compare IPv4 with IPv6 and SaaS, IaaS and PaaS in two small tables. Learn the cyber ethics terms with an example of each.

A CREST student who was International Rank 2 in the Class 7 Cyber Olympiad in 2019-20 stuck to a timetable prepared in advance, keeping his other priorities in view, according to his Hall of Fame profile. A written plan like that suits a ten-unit syllabus.
