1. Reasoning Olympiad Individual registrations by students are accepted.

2. Students who have not done registration through school will have to take exams from home. The individual participating should have a computer or laptop with a webcam and a good internet facility. The exam is monitored through a webcam.

The Reasoning Olympiad syllabus for class 4 grows from nine topics to eleven. Eight Class 3 topics carry over unchanged, and Geometrical Shapes widens to Geometrical Shapes and Solids. Embedded Figures returns: it was in the Class 1 and Class 2 lists but not in Class 3. Possible Combinations appears for the first time.

The Achievers Section draws on all eleven topics too, through ten Higher Order Thinking Questions at two marks apiece.

Class 4 is the last year of the 35-question paper: one hour and a total of 45, made up of 25 single-mark reasoning items plus the Achievers items. A guess that turns out wrong costs your child nothing. In Class 5 the question count rises to 50.

So apart from Possible Combinations, almost nothing on the list is completely unfamiliar. That makes Class 4 a good year to firm up Embedded Figures, which is back on the list, and to get comfortable with working through the full hour.

The exam dates for CREST Reasoning Olympiad (CRO) for Class 4 for the Academic year 2026-27 are as given below:

The exam fee is INR 275 for students studying and enrolling from India. For students studying and residing outside of India, the fee is USD 15.

Six to eight weeks is a comfortable runway for Class 4. Split the eleven topics into two halves, give each half a fortnight, and switch to full papers after that.

Picture topics first: Geometrical Shapes and Solids (fold a paper cube and count its faces, edges and corners), Embedded Figures, and Mirror Images and Water Images. Then the logic topics: Direction Sense Test, Possible Combinations (list every way to line up three coloured beads), Ranking Test, Puzzle Test and Coding - Decoding. Finish with Patterns, Analogy and Classification, and Alphabet Test and Logical Sequence of Words.

Use the class 4 Reasoning Olympiad sample papers to test each half as you finish it, and the CREST workbook for Class 4 (see the Olympiad books page) when your child wants more questions.

Your child should now practise managing the clock alone. Divide the hour by 35 and each question gets about 103 seconds. If one question is taking too long, pick the most likely option and move on, because CRO never deducts for a miss.

There are two practice tests. Practice Test 1 is the free trial, a replica of the main exam, and Practice Test 2 is booked on the dashboard along with the Level 1 slot. Use both before exam day.

On the day itself, log in a little early, keep the room quiet and well lit so your child's face shows clearly on the webcam, and keep a glass of water nearby. A last sample paper two days before is plenty. The Click To Take Exam button turns on 10 minutes before the booked slot, and from then on your child works alone.

Class 4 Reasoning cut-off & rankings will publish the cut-off marks for the level 1 exam. The Reasoning Olympiad cut-off is the minimum number of points required to pass the exam. CREST Olympiads CRO cut-off marks will be posted on the official website. Students will be able to determine the probability of the selection by matching their probable score with the answer key.

Class 4 Reasoning Olympiad answer key will get published in January. The CRO answer keys will be available on the students' dashboard. With the CRO answer key, students will be able to calculate their likely scores.

Expect the class 4 Reasoning Olympiad results roughly one month after the answer key dates are over. Use the username and password from registration to open the results.

If your child registered through a school that has more than 25 students in a class, the top 3 from that school each receive a gold medal with a Merit Certificate. Beyond the school ranks, percentile decides the colour of the medal (96 and up for gold, 93 to 96 for silver, 90 to 93 for bronze), and a zonal rank of 10 or less is also a gold.

CREST posts medals and trophies to whichever address, school or home, was entered at registration, and it is not responsible if an incomplete address stops the delivery. A Merit Certificate goes to the top 25%, and the next 25% receive an Honourable Mention digital certificate. These results are final for Class 4, as CRO has no second level.

a. The Class 4 CREST Reasoning Olympiad (CRO) is a single-level exam, so all awards are based on that one exam.

b. International Ranks 1 to 3 in each class receive an Achiever's Trophy and a Merit Certificate.

c. A Gold Medal and a Merit Certificate go to every student at the 96th percentile or above, every student with a zonal rank of 10 or less, and the top 3 school-registered students of each school that has more than 25 students in the class.

d. Students between the 93rd and 96th percentile receive a Silver Medal, and those between the 90th and 93rd percentile a Bronze Medal, each with a Merit Certificate.

e. The top 25% of students receive a Merit Certificate.

f. Students in the top 25% to 50% receive an 'Honourable Mention' Digital Certificate.

g. A student who meets two or more of these criteria receives the higher award. All awards are delivered to the school or home address given at registration.

h. Every online participant receives a Digital Participation Certificate in their dashboard.
