a. Senior KG children from any country and any board (CBSE, ICSE, IB, State Board or other) can take the Science Olympiad for Senior KG.
b. Go through the school, or sign your child up directly, as CREST takes individual entries too.
c. Senior KG children still have a grown-up beside them. You may sit with your child and explain what a question means, but the answer should come from your child. Children sit alone only from Class 2.
d. Where and how: online, at home, on any computer or tablet whose screen is above 11.5 inches and which has a webcam. The webcam monitors the exam, the connection should give about 2 Mbps, and a mobile phone will not do.
e. CSO for Senior KG has 2 levels, and Level 2 is open to every Senior KG child whose Level 1 score is 60% or more.
1. A head start on what comes next. Plants and animals stay on the CREST Science list in Class 1, and transport returns in Class 2. Meeting them as picture puzzles now makes those topics feel familiar later.
2. Caring for the world early. Air, water and noise pollution appear here for the first time. A simple question about a smoky road or a loud horn gets a child thinking about the world they share.
3. Safety that matters at home and on the road. Traffic rules and safety, and good and bad habits, are tested directly, which gives you a natural reason to practise crossing the road together.
4. A confident start from home. Because the exam is online and taken from home, a published Class 1 review finds it an easy way for young children to make an early start.

Sense organs enter the Myself unit, and air, water and noise pollution appear under My Environment. Music and Games and rail travel are new, flowers come back under Plants, and traffic rules and safety get a place of their own. Community helpers, the weather unit, spring and polite words from Junior KG are not in this list.
Section 1
On top of these, the Achievers Section tests the same units through Higher Order Thinking Questions.

Senior KG children learn well by doing, so plan 15 to 20 minute sessions, four or five days a week, for a few weeks before the exam. Sit with your child for each one.
Turn the themes into small games. Cover your child's eyes and let them guess a fruit by smell and touch; that is the sense organs unit. Name the instruments you hear in a song, and sort games into indoor and outdoor ones. On a walk, follow an ant trail and talk about insects and where different animals live. Name the vehicles you see, add the train, and practise the zebra crossing and the traffic light together. At home, ask which sounds are noise and which are not.
The Senior KG workbook is among the Science Olympiad books for Senior KG. CREST's official preparation partner keeps more preparation material on the Olympiad Success website.
When the topics are comfortable, work through the Science Olympiad questions for Senior KG on the sample papers page. Read each one aloud. The previous year paper in the table below makes a good final practice round.
You have 45 minutes for 25 questions, close to two minutes each, so encourage your child to look at every picture before choosing. Take the free practice test with the webcam on, just like on exam day.
On the day itself, settle your child at the desk a little early with a glass of water nearby. The exam button turns on 10 minutes before the slot, and a calm start matters more than any last-minute revision.

Since the examination is parent/teacher assisted, no ranking system is followed. Every candidate scoring 60% or more in the final level examination is awarded a Star Medal and Merit Certificate. To maintain complete transparency, the answer key is released before the declaration of final results, and participants are also given the opportunity to challenge any question or answer in case of doubt.
Senior KG Science Olympiad results are published on the CREST website. Level 1 scores go up a month or so after the last answer key date; for Level 2, allow up to a month from the final answer key. Log in with your registered credentials and look under Performance, then Results.
Because a parent or teacher helps during the paper, Senior KG has no ranks. The result is your child's score alone. 60% or more in Level 1 opens Level 2, and 60% or more in Level 2 brings a Star Medal and a Merit Certificate. The dashboard also holds a Digital Participation Certificate for every child, high score or not.
Answer keys come out before the results, and the dates for viewing them are fixed, so look at them while they are open. Spot an answer that looks wrong? The answer key page itself has a challenge option. The fee per challenged question, returned if the challenge is upheld, is Rs. 125.
