What does the Class 8 book focus on?

Class 8 shares its CMMO topic list with Class 7, and it is the last class where Square and Square Roots and Cube and Cube Roots appear. The questions are a step harder. In the free Number System chapter, rational numbers take centre stage: converting recurring decimals into fractions, finding the HCF of 3/16, 5/12 and 7/20, and sharing 7/8 of a pizza between 3 people. Word problems include a car that uses 1/8 of a tank for 50 km and a debt of $350 paid off in steps. There are also substitution questions such as finding a value when a = -5, b = 7 and c = -2.

A CREST previous year paper and the answer key make up the last part of the book.

How will the book help in the CMMO?

Because the topics repeat from Class 7, use the chapters to find weak spots. Do a timed set from each chapter, rank them from slowest to fastest, and spend more time on the slow ones. The paper is 100 questions in an hour, so leave long data tables for the end if they hold your child up.
