Rule 2: Singular words are made plural by adding the suffix ‘-es’ to words which end in -s, -ss, -ch, -sh and -x. For example, loss-losses, dish-dishes, branch- branches, etc.
Rule 3: Singular words are made plural by adding the suffix ‘-es’ to words which end in -o. For example, tornado-tornadoes, zero-zeroes, echo-echoes, etc.

Rule 6: When the last -y of a singular word comes just after a vowel, the plural word is created by adding ‘-s’. For example, essay-essays, way-ways, tray-trays, etc.
Rule 7: There are some words that do not follow any rules mentioned above. Thus, we have to remember their singular and plural forms. For example, tooth-teeth, child-children, mouse-mice, etc.
Rule 8: Some words don’t change whether they are singular or plural. For example, water-water, milk-milk, deer-deer, etc.
Rule 9: Words that are used after numerals never change. For example, thousand-thousand, score-score, hundred-hundred, etc.
