    A preposition is a word that comes before a noun or pronoun to indicate the relationship between the person or thing described by the nouns. Behind, at, in, or, under are some common prepositions.

    Prepositions are also called place words because they denote the placement of people or things.

    Prepositions of location are terms that help us in expressing where something is in relation to another. They help in comprehending the position or arrangement of items or persons. It includes in, on, under, above, between, behind, beside, etc.

    Examples:

    → My son should study at Oxford.
    → We stayed in this hotel yesterday.
    → Jack is standing beside the table.
    → They found something underwater .
    → My son was waiting for you at the airport.

    Prepositions of time help us understand when something occurred or will occur. They demonstrate the connection between a noun (such as a day, month, or time) and the rest of the phrase. It includes at, on, for, in, since, during, before, etc.
