CSB Olympiad Book for Senior KG

The Senior KG book for the CREST International Spell Bee - Summer (CSB) will be built on the Senior KG word list. About half of it is word families: -at, -an, -ap, -ag, -et, -en, -in, -it, -op and -ot, so a child who can spell cat is one letter away from hat and bat. The list also has 30 sight words such as the, was, who and why, along with short nouns, action words, describing words, pronouns, prepositions and number words.

Questions in the Senior KG paper come in eight short sections, including Rhyme Chime, Picture Speak, Letter Treasure and Jumble Jungle. Spellings follow British English and the Oxford Learner's Dictionary, and up to 20% of questions may use words from outside the list.

The book is meant for Senior KG children practising with a parent or teacher. In the exam an adult may read a question out or explain it; the final answer must be the child's.
