Olympiad exams in Thailand

i) Thailand International Mathematics Olympiad

Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) is an annually held Mathematics Olympiad examination. The exam is administered to students in grades KG–12. Only the online mode is used to conduct the exam. The Thailand Mathematics Society and the Olympiad Champion Education Center (OCEC) are responsible for organizing it.

As the majority of Mathematical Olympiad competitions are only targeted at 0.1% of the talented students, TIMO provides the opportunity for all students with a significant interest in Mathematics to participate in the Mathematical Olympiad.

TIMO Heats is first conducted at the country level to find Mathematical young talents who can compete in TIMO Finals in Thailand. Students who qualify for the TIMO Finals and grab the Gold award are then eligible for WIMO (World International Mathematical Olympiad) and are also eligible for a free Olympiad training workshop.

ii) National Biology Olympiad - Thailand

NBO is open for High school students who are not more than 18 years old in the current school year and be Thai citizens.

The THAI Biology Olympiad is conducted in 3 rounds -

Round 1: A total of about 100 to 120 students are selected by the two institutions (IPST & POSN). IPST set up an open exam to select 60 to 80 students (out of more than 12,500 students) and POSN holds a Science competition to select 40 students.

Round 2: 60 to 70 students are chosen from the 1st round using a half-day theoretical exam and a half-day practical exam.

Round 3: Two exams are given to students selected from round 2 and the scores are added together to select 4 representatives of Thailand. The first exam is a theory exam. The second exam includes both theory and practice. In this round, the final four Thai representatives are chosen.

iii) Thailand English Olympiad

The English Olympiad team is inviting both native and non-native Thai students to apply to be a Campus Ambassador of Thailand English Olympiad as part of the Global English Olympiad.

This competition has three rounds: selection round, theater round and grand finale. Thailand schools, colleges and university authorities can easily register (institutional registration) for the selection rounds of the English Olympiad in Thailand.

Thailand English Olympiad has six different groups for classes called -

1. Kids (till class 2)

2. Small Starts (3-5 classes)

3. Juniors (6-8 classes)

4. High Flyers (9- 10 classes)

5. Trailblazers (11-12 classes) and

6. Seniors (Any student above Higher Secondary class)
