Olympiad Exams in Japan

i) Japan Biology Olympiad

The Japan Biology Olympiad is open for Junior High and High school students. This Olympiad competition is conducted in 3 rounds. And 4000 students are allowed to participate in the first round of the examination.

JBO winners will receive a certificate for their performance in JBO Round 2 and Round 3.

ii) International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO)

The International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) is an annual competition conducted for secondary school students. Countries around the world send teams of four students for this contest. The exam tests the knowledge and abilities of students in Chemistry. It is a 5-hour practical exam and a 5-hour written theoretical exam that is conducted on different days, the practical exam is usually conducted before the theoretical exam.

The program aims to stimulate students' interest in Chemistry through independent and creative chemical problem-solving. Additionally, it aims to encourage national friendships among young scientists, interaction among students and the sharing of pedagogical and scientific knowledge in the field of Chemistry.

Preparation for the International Chemistry Olympiad needed a high level of understanding and enthusiasm in Chemistry and an excellent ability to correlate and practice Chemistry topics.

iii) Japan Mathematics Olympiad (JMO)

The Japan Mathematical Olympiad (denoted JMO) is a Math competition organized in Japan to choose representatives from Japan to compete in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Every year, a significant number of students from elementary and High school take part in JMO.

There is a preliminary round and a final round for the JMO competition.
