Olympiad Exams in Iran

i) Iran Geometry Olympiad

In 2014, the “Iran Geometry Olympiad” was established by a group consisting of activists of the Mathematical Olympiad in Iran. Currently, this competition is organized annually at four distinct levels and attracts geometry enthusiasts from all over the world as well as children in grades 7-12.

ii) Iranian Combinatorics Olympiad (ICO)

Iranian Combinatorics Olympiad (ICO) is a yearly basis competition focusing on high-quality problems related to combinatorics.

Its aim is to help students get familiar with combinatorics as a creative, broad and enjoyable topic, in a fun and adventurous manner as well as allowing them to compete with students from other countries and all the combinatorics enthusiasts.

ICO is the first competition in the field of combinatorics, which contains online scoring and ranking. Registration is open to anyone interested in Mathematics or Computer Science, from High school or any other education.

iii) Iranian Biology Olympiad (IrBO)

Iran Biology Olympiad (IrBO) is an annual multi-level competition for Iranian High school students aged 17-18 in the field of Biology. The IrBo is conducted in 4 rounds.

Exam structure

The Iranian Biological Olympiad (IrBO) is conducted in 4 rounds.

The 1st round exam consists of 40-50 multiple-choice questions. The 2nd round consists of 30-40 true/false questions. The 3rd round contains various types of theoretical and practical problems from all areas of Biology.

The result of the 3rd round is the selection of 8 students, who are chosen as the winners of IrBO gold medals and members of IrBO National Team. The final (4th) round is the process of selecting four national team members to represent their countries in the International Biology Olympiad.

Awards

8 national gold medalists and 32 silver and bronze medalists are recognized each year. Winners of the eight gold medals can enter university without taking any exams.
