In a beautiful town there lived two friends, Emily and Tom. One fine day Emily and Tom went out to play. Emily looked up at the bright sky and said, "Tom, why is it so sunny and warm today?" Tom grinned, "Well, Emily, that's because we're in the season of summer. During summer, the days are longer, and the sun shines brightly, making it warm outside."

Emily tilted her head, her eyes filled with curiosity, "But Tom, why do we have different seasons? Why can't it be sunny all the time?"

Kids, can you tell why we have different seasons?

Tom thought for a moment, rubbing his chin, "You know, Emily, the Earth is not standing still. It's like a spinning top. As it revolves and goes around the sun, it gives us different seasons."

Emily's face lit up with understanding, "Ah, so it's like a dance! The Earth is dancing with the sun".

Tom chuckled, "Exactly! And when we're closer to the sun, it's warmer, giving us summer." Emily nodded, "That makes sense. But then, why does it get cold in winter?"

Tom explained patiently, "Good question! During winter, our part of Earth leans away from the sun. Because of this tilt, we get less sunlight, and that's why it becomes colder. "Emily's eyes sparkled again, "And what about the times between summer and winter?"

Kids, can you tell in which season the flower starts to bloom?

Tom smiled, "Ah, those are the magical seasons of spring and autumn! Spring is like a gentle wake-up call from winter. The days get longer, and flowers start to bloom. And trees become green again. Autumn, on the other hand, is nature's way of preparing for winter. The leaves on trees turn into beautiful shades of orange, red and yellow, creating a mesmerising view."

Emily clapped her hands, her excitement evident, "So, every year, we get to experience these four seasons?"

Tom nodded, "Absolutely! And the best part is that each season comes with its own set of fun activities. Summer is perfect for beach trips and ice creams. Winter brings snow, so we can make snow angels and have snowball fights. Springs allows us to enjoy the fresh air and blossoming flowers. And autumn? Well, it's all about crunchy leaves and pumpkin pies!" Emily moved around, her dress flowing, "I think I love all the seasons! They each have something special to offer."

Emily and Tom also talked about the rainy season which comes in spring during which heavy rains are observed.

Tom grinned, "That's the spirit, Emily! And you know what's even more amazing? Each season teaches us valuable lessons. Summer reminds us to relax and enjoy. Winter teaches us to brave the cold. Spring shows us the beauty of new beginnings. And autumn? It's a lesson in letting go, just like how trees shed their leaves."

Emily thought for a moment, You're right, Tom. I've always taken the seasons for granted. But now, I realise how each one plays a unique role in our lives." Tom nodded in agreement. "It's like a beautiful cycle, Emily. And we're lucky to be a part of it."

The two friends sat down, looking at the horizon where the sun was slowly setting. The sky painted a beautiful picture, blending orange, pink, and red.

With their hearts full of wonder and gratitude, Emily and Tom made a promise to cherish each season.
