The table shows the CMO cut-offs for 2025-26, class by class: the score a student needed to qualify for Level 2 and to win a medal, a Merit Certificate or an Honourable Mention. A dash means there is no cut-off for that award in that class. In 2025-26 the medal cut-off ran from 88% (Class 5) to 97% (Class 2). Choose another year to compare.

Students qualify if they are in the top 66.67% of candidates in their class in Level 1, or among the top 3 students (registered through school) from a school with more than 25 students in that class taking the exam. In addition, every student of Nursery to Class 1 who scores 60% or more in Level 1 qualifies.

If two students have the same marks, the higher Level 1 score ranks higher, then the student who finished the test in less time, then the younger student by date of birth. Students who are still tied share the rank. Ranks are normalised across exam sessions, since each session has its own paper.
