    A pattern is a logically repeated arrangement of letters, numbers, shapes and other elements.

    The rule that a pattern always follows helps us predict what will happen next in the sequence.

    Different pattern and shapes

    Repeating pattern: If a rule repeats itself repeatedly and in a cyclical manner, that pattern is said to be a repeating pattern.

    Types of Pattern

    There are different types of patterns.

    a. Number Pattern: The patterns in which a list of numbers follows a specific sequence are known as number patterns.

    For example:

    Hence, the number increases by 2 in each step.

    b. Letter Pattern: A letter pattern is a sequence or pattern found in a group of letters. In general, this pattern makes a connection between all the letters.

    c. Increasing and decreasing pattern

    Increasing Pattern: It is a pattern of numbers where the numbers are arranged in increasing order.

    In this pattern, we can see that the pattern is increasing by 10.

    Decreasing Pattern: It is a pattern of numbers where the numbers are arranged in decreasing order.

    In this pattern, we can see that the pattern is decreasing by 2.
