How do you spell focus?

Syllables: fo - cus

Tricky part: The word ends in us, not as or ous. For the past tense, focused is the usual spelling, though focussed is also seen in British English.

Watch out for: focas, focous

Memory tip: Focus ends in us. Tell yourself: focus on us, and you will not write ous or as at the end.
