How to Spell Concede

Syllables: con - cede

Tricky part: The ending is cede, not ceed, so it looks like recede and precede. The first c sounds like k and only the second says s.

Watch out for: conceed, consede, concead

Memory tip: Only three common verbs end in ceed: succeed, proceed and exceed. Concede is not one of them, so it joins recede and precede.
