Meet Tom and Lily! Two best friends who loved going on beach adventures. One sunny day, they decided to explore the magical world of the oceans together. As they reached the shore, they were surprised to see something that made them a bit sad.

Tom: Oh no, Lily! Look at all this rubbish on the beach! Why is it here?

Lily: Good question, Tom! Let's dive into the ocean of knowledge to find out why we need to keep our seas clean.

Kids, do you know why we should keep our oceans clean?

Imagine if you have a beautiful garden with flowers and trees. Would you like it if someone threw trash all over it? Of course not! Our oceans are like the gardens of the underwater world. They are home to incredible creatures like dolphins, whales, and colourful fish.

Tom: So, Lily why should we keep our oceans clean?

Lily: Great question, Tom! Just like we love our homes to be clean and happy, the animals in the ocean need a clean and healthy home too.

As Tom and Lily walked along the beach, they noticed children and families playing in the sand. But, oh dear! Some wrappers and plastic bottles were left behind. That's not good for the ocean!

Tom: Lily, why is it important not to leave our rubbish on the beach?

Lily: Excellent question, Tom! When we leave trash on the beach, it can be blown into the ocean, and the sea creatures might mistake it for food. This can make them very sick.

Tom: That's right, Lily! It's important to keep our beaches clean to protect the ocean and its creatures. Now, let's play a fun game, little friends! Imagine you have some trash to throw away. Can you guess which bin to use?

Imagine you have an empty plastic bottle. Where do you think it should go? Should it go in the blue bin or the green bin?

    Lily: (excitedly) The blue bin!

Tom: Great job! That's correct! The blue bin is for recyclables like plastic bottles. When we recycle, we help make new things from old ones and keep our planet happy.

Now, let's imagine you have a banana peel. Where do you think the banana peel should go? The blue bin or the green bin?

    Lily: (thinking) The green bin!

Tom: Well done! You're right again. The green bin is for things like food scraps, paper, and other items.

As Tom and Lily walked closer to the water, they met Jake the jellyfish and Danny the Dolphin. Jake looked a bit sad, and Danny seemed worried.

Tom: Hey Jake, why the long face?

Jake: Well, Tom, I saw some plastic bags floating in the water. They can be dangerous for us sea creatures.

Danny: That's right, Tom! Plastic bags can look like jellyfish, and we might eat them by mistake.

Lily: Oh no! What can we do to help, Tom?

Tom: Great question, Lily! We can tell our human friends to use reusable bags instead of plastic ones. That way, our ocean friends will be safer.

As our beach buddies continued their adventure, they discovered the importance of being ocean guardians. They realised that every small action could make a big difference.

Lily: Tom, I want to be an ocean guardian!

Tom: That's a fantastic idea. Lily! We can all be ocean guardians by picking up trash, using the right bins, and telling our friends and family to keep our oceans clean.

So, little friends, the next time you visit the beach, remember the adventure of Tom, Lily, Jake and Danny.
